Energy conservation is a very important aspect of Faros’ business model. Faros implements a combination of no cost operational changes at all properties and installs cost effective retrofits to reduce energy usage. This program has resulted in immediate energy usage reductions and improved building operations. Furthermore, when energy-intensive equipment reaches the end of its useful life, Faros installs new equipment with the highest energy efficiency available.
Faros has implemented a company-wide waste recycling and management program. At this level of recycling, waste disposal no longer is a cost item, but a revenue producer, since properties are paid for their recyclable materials.
All Faros properties have active “green cleaning” programs that use eco-friendly cleaning products, equipment and methods—with no increase in cost compared to old cleaning methods and positive tenant feedback.
